Fitch boys even the score with East Lyme

Groton — Boden Frost set the state record for most assists in one season (95) Tuesday and the Fitch High School boys’ lacrosse team pulled into a virtual tie for first place in Division I of the Eastern Connecticu­t Conference with a 13-12 win over East Lyme.

Frost finished with a goal and eight assists for the Falcons (12-2, 6-1). Roman Rich had six goals and Tate Gordon added five for Fitch while Chase Beyus had 25 saves.

East Lyme, which defeated Fitch 13-12 earlier in the season, is 7-4, 5-1. In other games:

• Old Lyme defeated Valley Regional 13-8 in the Shoreline Conference. Mason Bussman scored four goals for the Wildcats (7-5, 5-4).

• Ethan Mahoney scored six goals and Stonington defeated Ledyard/ Griswold 13-5 in ECC Division II. Kyle Olsson scored three times for the Bears (7-6, 3-3). Nick Favaloro scored three goals for Ledyard/Griswold (210, 1-4).

• Troy Johnson and Ethan LoVetere scored three goals apiece and Bacon Academy edged St. Bernard/ Wheeler 9-8 in ECC Division III. The Bobcats are 8-3, 4-0. Ben Howes had four goals and two assists for the Saints (8-4, 4-1) and Will Sluggett had three goals and one assist.

• Logan Jenkins led the way with seven goals as Norwich Free Academy defeated Prince Tech/Cheney Tech 19-1. Gavin Jenkins added three goals and Conor Dempsey had two for NFA (5-8).

Girls

• Wheeler defeated Woodstock Academy 19-6. Sophia Gouveia scored five goals for the Lions (8-3) while Grace Cassata and Stella Mastroiann­i scored three goals apiece.

• Old Lyme defeated Cromwell 19-4 in the Shoreline Conference. Sydney Goulding and Maya LeQuire scored three goals apiece for the Wildcats (10-1, 9-0).
