Ticket prices going up for Broncos’ home games.

Only one team boasts more home wins than the Broncos over the past four seasons. The Broncos’ résumé includes two AFC championship game victories.

Sustaining the success for the Super Bowl victors comes at a price.

In raising prices for a fifth consecutive season, the Broncos will introduce variable pricing on season- ticket plans for the first time. It will vary the cost of regular- season gameswhile also dramatically dropping preseason ticket prices.

All seats will see ameasured increase of $ 3 per ticket, an average of 3.05 percent. The Broncos’ average price will go from $ 98.41 to $ 101.49, ranking them in the upper third in the NFL.

“We feel like the value proposition is fair to the fans. We want to continue to drive revenue to compete on the field and enhance the fan experience,” said Mac Freeman, the Broncos’ senior vice president of business operations. “The secondary market continues to give us real clarity into the true value and demand for our tickets. Tickets are sold at an average of two to three times their face value on the secondary market.”

The Broncos will designate games in the tierpricing plan when the schedule is released in the spring. Several candidates exist for premium games, because the New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts visit SportsAuthority Field at Mile High. The Broncos, too, will kick off the season in a Thursday night opener.

Season- ticket holders will pay the lowest price for their seats for all games.

After years of fans paying regular- season prices for exhibition games, this preseason offers close to a 50 percent discount. Tickets priced from$ 50 to $ 180 will drop to from $ 27 to $ 93.

Since 2012, only the Patriots ownmore home victories than the Broncos. During this stretch, the Broncos have gone 32- 6.

“( Owner) Pat Bowlen’s legacy is all about putting back into the product, winning on the field and contributing in the community,” Freeman said. “Obviously we are wildly humbled by the support we have received this year, and even out in Santa Clara and through the parade. It’s inspiring, andwe are appreciative.”
