In a classic Coors Field turnaround, the Rockies rallied for five runs in the eighth inning Sunday, then gave up five in the ninth to lose 12-10. How it all fell apart for Colorado closer Jake McGee in the ninth:

• Yasmani Grandal grounded into a fielder’s choice, Gonzalez out at second base.

• Howie Kendrick singled to right field, Grandal to third.

• Enrique Hernandez walked to load the bases.

• Trayce Thompson grounded to shortstop Trevor Story, who had difficulty controlling the ball and got only one out, a forceout at second. Grandal scored, Kendrick to third.

• A.J. Ellis singled to left-center, Kendrick scored, Thompson to third.

• Wild pitch by McGee, Thompson scored, pinch-runner Charlie Culberson to second.

• Chase Utley doubled to right field, Culberson scored.

• Corey Seager doubled to left-center, Utley scored.

• Pitcher Chad Qualls replaced McGee.
