QUARTERBACK UNCERTAINTY NOT A WORRY FOR WARE OR ANDERSON

-

As the Broncos wait to see who the third (and possibly fourth) quarterback will be heading into training camp, they remain impressed by Mark Sanchez.

“He wants it. Like any guy who wants it, you cannot be mad about that,” running back C.J. Anderson said. “When he comes in and he’s telling us, ‘Hey, man, let’s go throw. Hey, man, let’s do this.’ He knows we probably got 2,000 snaps under our belt, but we know he needs that. So myself, Demaryius (Thomas), Ronnie (Hillman), Emmanuel (Sanders), Virgil (Green), Jeff (Heuerman), we go out there and throw and catch with him when we’re off campus. We go out there and start catching with him so he can get those reps and he can get those feelings. That’s a good thing. I think he’s ready to go.”

Anderson and DeMarcus Ware acknowledged it’s been odd not having Peyton Manning around this offseason.

“It’s been a strange offseason, but all offseasons are strange,” Ware said. “You don’t know exactly what’s going on. I think once we start OTAs (organized team activities) and minicamp and training camp, everything will start falling into place and where it needs to be.”

Another option. Sam Bradford requested a trade from the Eagles less than two months after signing a new contract with the team, according to ESPN, giving the Broncos another option when searching for a third quarterback. But his new contract comes with obstacles.

Bradford is guaranteed $22 million in his two-year deal, with $18 million due this season ($12.5 million cap hit). He’s already earned his $11 million signing bonus, meaning any acquiring team likely would be on the hook for only his base salary of $7 million this season. In 2017, however, he is due $13 million in salary and $4 million in a roster bonus by March 2017.

Although Bradford has asked out of Philadelphia, the Eagles have not given him permission to speak with other teams.

The Super Bowl MVP joined the NFL Players Association’s top 50 sales list on NFLPA-licensed products for the 2015-16 season (March 1, 2015-Feb. 29, 2016), ranking No. 24 in his first appearance on the list since the union started to compile the data, in 2013.

Tom Brady reclaimed the No. 1 spot from Russell Wilson, while Manning, again, came in at No. 2. Wilson, Aaron Rodgers and Dez Bryant rounded out the top five.

Thomas (No. 37) was the only other Bronco on the list.
