BOY HIT BY CAR IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION

aurora» An 11-year-old boy was in critical condition Wednesday after being hit by a car that morning.

Police said the boy and another 11-year-old boy were crossing East Mississipp­i Avenue at South Uvalda Street on their way to Aurora Hills Middle School when one was hit.

The accident happened before 9 a.m., and the boy who was hit suffered lifethreat­ening injuries, police said. The second boy was not injured. That section of East Mississipp­i is wide and busy, with three through-lanes in each direction, east and west, and single-vehicle turn lanes north and south onto South Uvalda.

Man sentenced to life for killing ex-wife. Andrew

Ausmus, 59, of Arapahoe County, was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of his ex-wife.

Ausmus was sentenced by District Judge Ben Leutwyler III to the mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibilit­y of parole, according to a district attorney’s news release.

On Oct. 17, a passer-by called 911 about a house fire on County Road 157. Emergency responders found the body of Teresa Ausmus, 57, in the home. She had been stabbed numerous times. The couple recently had finalized a divorce.

Two students face charges in “clown threat”

B greeley» After threats of clowns and shootings at Greeley schools turned out to be a hoax, two students are facing criminal charges. Greeley police traced the threat’s origins to a 15-year-old girl who attended Northridge High School. Police said she posted a threat concerning the school.

Then an 11-year-old boy brought a BB gun to Franklin Middle School. He had a backpack with an image of a clown on it, according to police, and is being held in the Platte Valley Youth Detention Center.
