POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN FINDING BANK ROBBER
jefferson county» Surveillance photos of a man who robbed a Jefferson County bank were released Thursday by investigators.
At about 12:15 p.m. Thursday, the Key Bank at 7323 W. Chatfield Ave. was robbed by a man who passed a note saying he was armed to a teller, according to the sheriff’s office.
The robber fled on foot with cash. No weapon was seen during the robbery.
He is described as a balding white man, in his mid-20s, about 5foot-6 and 180 pounds with a “couple of days” growth of facial hair.

GoFundMe shuts down page for mom charged in her baby’s death
B fort collins» Fundraising site GoFundMe has shut down a page raising money for a Colorado mother now charged in connection with her baby’s death.
The Coloradoan reports the fundraising effort was started by a friend of Alexa Coria. Police say Coria’s boyfriend, Juan CanalesHernandez, fatally hit Coria’s 11-month-old daughter with a chair. They say Coria lied about how the child was hurt to keep her boyfriend from going to prison. More than $1,300 was raised, but no money was withdrawn from the account. The money has been refunded to donors.
Mount Evans highway to close for season at Echo Lake on Monday.
The state Department of Transportation will close the Mount Evans highway at Echo Lake on Monday. Vehicles will not be able to ascend Mount Evans via Colorado 5 until around Memorial Day, weather permitting.
New Mexico man found guilty of ’07 sex assault B
durango» A New Mexico man has been convicted of sexually assaulting a Durango woman who died after the abuse nearly a decade ago.
A jury Wednesday found 43-year-old Harold Nakai of Shiprock guilty of sexual assault. It was his third trial in the case. Two other men were convicted for their involvement.
Motorcyclist in crash dies at hospital
B northglenn» A motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon at a hospital after a collision with a truck.
The crash happened about 1 p.m. in the 10600 block of Irma Drive, according to the Northglenn Police Department.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a man lying in the middle of the street. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Witnesses told investigators that the motorcycle was northbound on Irma at high speed when it collided with a truck making a left turn.
