The Denver Post

Focus should be on tired defense

-

Lynch fan. A Paxton Lynch sighting? Finally. It’s like he is the invisible man. I am surprised the Broncos have not put him in to play before now. Martha, 83-year-old fan

Kiz: Lost amid all the yapping about cornerback Aqib Talib shoving Jordan Norwood in the back after a muffed punt during the loss to Kansas City last week was the real thing that should concern Broncos Country. The stellar Denver defense is finally showing the strain of carrying this team on its back. Team brotherhood can survive a shove in the back. But an angry shove can quickly morph into fingers pointed in blame, and then you’ve got real trouble on your hands. Should Denver lose to lowly Jacksonville, you might begin to hear it-ain’t-my-fault grumbling in the locker room. If the Broncos are going to ride with Lynch, they have to take off the training wheels. But can coach Gary Kubiak trust Lynch to push the pedal to the metal without ending up in the ditch? Let’s hope so, because if Lynch throws two interceptions against the Jaguars, Talib might lock his rookie QB in the bathroom for the airplane ride back to Colorado.
