BLOCK LEADS TO HEELS’ WIN

chapel hill, n.c.» Freshman Tony Bradley Jr. blocked a shot in the final seconds and No. 7 North Carolina overcame a 15point deficit to beat Tennessee 73-71 on Sunday.

Justin Jackson scored the go-ahead basket with 2:14 left for the Tar Heels, and freshman Brandon Robinson added a key tip-in with 52.4 seconds left.

Tennessee had a last chance to tie as Lamonte Turner drove toward the basket. The 6-foot-10 Bradley blocked the shot and grabbed the loose ball.

North Carolina shot just 40 percent, with Jackson managing seven points on 3-for-15 shooting. Sophomore Kenny Williams III had 12 points, and Nate Britt had 11 points, seven assists and five steals in place of point guard Joel Berry II, who missed his second straight with an ankle injury.

Dwayne Bacon scored 24 points and Terrence Mann added 16 as Florida State held on to beat No. 21 Florida 83-78. … Malik Monk scored 20 points, Isaiah Briscoe had 19 and No. 6 Kentucky took control with a 26-3 run spanning halftime in a 96-73 victory over Hofstra. … Tyler Dorsey scored 19 points and Dylan Ennis hit a tiebreakin­g 3-pointer as the shot clock expired to help No. 24 Oregon beat Alabama 63-56. … Jock Landale had 15 points and seven rebounds, and Evan Fitzner added a season-high 12 points as No. 12 Saint Mary’s bounced back from its first loss of the season to beat UC Irvine 84-53.
