Is there a right time to upgrade?

-

GroovyTek trainers are asked multiple times a day, “Should I upgrade to a new device, is it worth it, is it time or should I wait?” While there is not a simple across the board answer, upgrading to a new device does makes sense in the below scenarios:

• Your device stops working, or becomes too slow, or no longer syncs with other devices.

• Your device is no longer going to be supported on a network. This is the case now with flip phones.

• Your device is working fine but you have bought other items that do not synch or interact with the device because it is of a different generation and can’t communicate with your new equipment.

• Your carrier has informed you that you are eligible for an upgrade to a newer device and there are some neat things the new device offers that you would like to explore. When choosing a new device, be aware of your options and have a handle on what is most important for you to use the device to accomplish. Knowing what you don’t need is just as important as knowing what you do need.

There are also many scenarios when it just doesn’t make sense to upgrade at all.

For example, if you just purchased a new pair of headphones, you probably wouldn’t be too happy to discover that your new iPhone 7 doesn’t have an audio jack to plug into. Or, you probably wouldn’t be too pleased about that new Galaxy Note 7 you upgraded to when you are publicly shamed on an airplane when you are told those phones are banned as they have a tendency to explode. Upgrading to a new device can be both fun and intimidating. GroovyTek trainers are available to help you decide if it’s a good time to upgrade and can help you with the transition.
