No. 3 Regis Jesuit (1-1) lost to No. 10 Mullen (1-2) 40-39 at home, squanderin­g a 33-14 lead with less than eight minutes to play.

No. 4 Cherry Creek (1-1) beat No. 9 Doherty (1-1) 33-27 as junior quarterbac­k Alex Padilla tossed three touchdowns.

No. 5 Eaglecrest (2-0) beat Thunderrid­ge (02) 38-13 behind three passing scores from senior quarterbac­k Jalen Mergerson and two rushing from senior Kenny Wantings.

No. 2 Ponderosa (2-0) beat Douglas County (0-2) 44-0 as Mustangs QB Sterling Ostdahl rushed for three TDS and passed for one.

No. 3 Broomfield (1-1) beat Wheat Ridge (12) 28-14 as Mitchell Gorman’s rushing touchdown put the game on ice.

No. 4 Chatfield (1-1) beat Palmer (0-2) 57-0 in a nonconfere­nce game.

No. 5 Windsor (1-1) lost to No. 1 Pine Creek (2-0) 10-0 in a game that proved the Wizards have a championsh­ip-caliber defense.

No. 6 Monarch (2-0) beat No. 10 Rampart (21) 14-7 with a decisive rushing score by Justin Kiss with two minutes left to play.

No. 7 Fruita Monument (3-0) beat Grand Junction (1-1) 30-7.

No. 9 Vista Ridge (1-1) beat Sand Creek (0-2) 49-14 as QB Rowan Neal passed for 301 yards and five TDS.
