Broncos Schedule

-

Sept. 11 vs. Los Angeles Chargers (8:20 p.m., ESPN)

The “Monday Night Football” doubleheader finale pits Broncos offensive coordinator Mike Mccoy against his former team, for whom he was head coach for the past four seasons, and serves as the Chargers’ first regularseason game since bolting San Diego. It will mark the seventh consecutive season Denver opens at home.

Sept. 17 vs. Dallas Cowboys (2:25 p.m., Fox)

This will be the first meeting of these teams since 2013 at Dallas (the Broncos won 51-48 on Matt Prater’s 28yard field goal as time expired). This Week 2 showdown will test Denver’s defense against rising Cowboys star QB Dak Prescott.

Sept. 24 at Buffalo Bills (11 a.m., CBS)

Former Broncos offensive coordinator Rick Dennison will be running the offense for the Bills in Denver’s first road game.

Oct. 1 vs. Oakland Raiders (2:25 p.m., CBS)

Before their Week 5 bye, the Broncos host their silver-and-black rivals, who are coming off a 12-4 regular season — their first winning season since 2002. Oakland coach Jack Del Rio, a former Denver defensive coordinator, is 19-13 in two seasons in the Bay Area.

Oct. 15 vs. New York Giants (6:30 p.m., NBC)

In a Sunday night affair, it’s Brandon Marshall vs. Brandon Marshall. The former Broncos wide receiver, now a Giant, returns to Denver for the first time since 2011 and faces his namesake linebacker. The Broncos, who will play four of their first five games at home, haven’t hosted the Giants since 2009.

Oct. 22 at Los Angeles Chargers (2:25 p.m., CBS)

Get accustomed to the name change; the Chargers are an L.A. team now. In 2020, the AFC West will feature another big move, when the Oakland Raiders move to Las Vegas.

Oct. 30 at Kansas City Chiefs (6:30 p.m., ESPN)

In its second “Monday Night Football” appearance, Denver gets its first crack at K.C., the defending AFC West co-champion that waxed the Broncos 33-10 last year at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs finished 2-0 against Denver in 2016, scoring a combined 63 points.

Nov. 5 at Philadelphia Eagles (11 a.m., CBS)

The Broncos remain on the road and play the third of four teams from the NFC East. The Eagles were a disappointing 7-9 last year, but 6-2 at home.

Nov. 12 vs. New England Patriots (6:30 p.m., NBC)

The Broncos host the Pats for the third consecutive year. New England, the defending NFL champion, beat Denver last year after losing in overtime in 2015 (and in the AFC championship). Once again, the Broncos are spared a trip to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

Nov. 19 vs. Cincinnati Bengals (2:25 p.m., CBS)

The only AFC North opponent on Denver’s schedule, the Broncos host the Bengals for a Sunday afternoon game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Denver is 21-9 against Cincy.

Nov. 26 at Oakland Raiders (2:25 p.m., CBS)

The series finale against the Raiders is the second-tolast division matchup for the Broncos.

Dec. 3 at Miami Dolphins (11 a.m., CBS)

Vance Joseph’s reunion. The Broncos’ first-year head coach was the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator last season. Also, Mccoy will work against his former disciple, Adam Gase, the Dolphins’ head coach. Mccoy and Gase helped build the Denver offenses for Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning.

Dec. 10 vs. New York Jets (2:05 p.m., CBS)

This will be the first game between the teams since 2014, when Ronnie Hillman had 100 yards rushing and Aqib Talib made a 22-yard, pick-six play with 15 seconds remaining to secure a 31-17 victory in East Rutherford, N.J.

Dec. 14 at Indianapolis Colts (6:25 p.m., NBC, NFLN)

This is Denver’s lone Thursday night contest. The all-time record between Indy and Denver is 13-13, with the Colts holding a slight advantage in scoring (597 to 573). The Broncos won early last year at home 34-20, with linebacker Shane Ray scoring the game’s final points on a 15yard fumble recovery converted for touchdown in the waning minutes.

Dec. 24 at Washington Redskins (11 a.m., CBS)

On Christmas Eve, the Broncos conclude their fourgame set against the NFC East. Denver last played Washington in 2013, outscoring the Redskins 31-0 in the fourth quarter of a 45-21 triumph in the Mile High City.

Dec. 31 vs. Kansas City Chiefs (2:25 p.m., CBS)

The Broncos’ final division game could dictate their playoff fate. Last season, two losses to the Chiefs cost the defending NFL champions a chance to repeat.
