This month, NBC’s televised singing competition “The Voice” returns to begin its quest to pluck the next need-to-know entertainer from America’s fertile field of talent.

Of course, like “The Hunger Games,” the show is much more fun to watch when there’s someone from your neck of the woods in the fight.

Indeed, this year, Denver has a tribute: Singer-songwriter Shayna Goldstein, who performs under the name Shilo Gold, is among the contestants for the 13th season of “The Voice.” Goldstein confirmed she’ll appear in the show’s initial blind audition stage on her Instagram account. To make it to the next round, she’ll have to impress one of this season’s judges: Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus or Jennifer Hudson.

To find out how she fares, keep an eye on the show starting on Sept. 25 at 8 p.m., this season’s premiere date.

A graduate of Denver School of the Arts, Goldstein has recently performed at Denver venues like Lost Lake Lounge and Globe Hall. She’s also an artist with SoFar Sounds, a grassroots gig program that curates pop-up shows in cities around the world (including Denver). In 2015, Goldstein performed at The Denver Post Foundation’s Underground Music Showcase.

Goldstein appears briefly in a promo for “The Voice” that the show tweeted out Tuesday morning.

In 2016, Boulder’s Halle Tomlinson appeared on season 11 of “The Voice,” joining Alicia Keys’ team before being eliminated.
