BROWNS’ HIGGINS ON ACTIVE ROSTER

The Browns promoted former Colorado State receiver Rashard Higgins from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday.

Higgins initially made the team’s 53-man roster but was released when the Browns made five waiver claims the day after the cutdown deadline.

Higgins was a fifth-round pick in 2016 and caught six passes for 77 yards as a rookie in 15 games last season.

Beckham officially questionab­le.

Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was officially listed as questionab­le for the second straight week with an ankle injury.

Beckham missed the Giants’ opener last Sunday against the Cowboys. He is believed to have a better chance to play Monday night against the Lions, four weeks to the day after suffering the injury. Beckham was a limited participan­t in practice Thursday and Friday, his first two practices since getting hurt.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the former Patriots backup, acquired via trade just ahead of the team’s season-opening loss to the Rams, has forced Week 1 starter Scott Tolzien to the bench.

Colts coach Chuck Pagano told reporters, however, no decision has been made on who will start Sunday.

The NFL Players Associatio­n said there would be no irreparabl­e harm to the NFL if Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott continues to play while the legal battle over his six-game suspension makes its way through the courts.
