MUELLER TEAM INTERVIEWS PRIEBUS

Former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus was interviewe­d Friday by special counsel Robert Mueller’s team of investigat­ors as part of an ongoing investigat­ion into potential coordinati­on between Russia and the Trump campaign, his attorney said.

“He was happy to answer all of their questions,” the lawyer, William Burck, said in a statement.

It was not immediatel­y clear what questions Priebus was asked or how long the interview lasted.

Priebus is one of several current and former White House aides expected to be interviewe­d by Mueller’s team in the coming weeks.

Two-star general loses post.

WASHINGTON» The Army has fired the twostar general who heads U.S. Army Africa amid allegation­s he had an inappropri­ate relationsh­ip with the wife of an enlisted soldier.

An Army statement provided to The Associated Press says Maj. Gen. Joseph Harrington was removed from his job due to a loss in his ability to command. A senior Army official says Harrington is under investigat­ion for sending inappropri­ate Facebook messages to the woman, who is married to a soldier on his base in Vincenza, Italy. Harrington is also married.

Nelly accuser won’t seek charges.

A woman who said the rapper Nelly raped her on his tour bus in a Seattle suburb last weekend is dropping her pursuit of criminal charges.

News outlets report that Karen Koehler said in a statement Friday that her client wanted to stop the investigat­ion and would refuse to testify in court.

Koehler says the woman “wishes she had not called 911 because she believes the system is going to fail her.”

Two protesters killed in Kenya.

NAIROBI, KENYA

Police in Kenya shot and killed two opposition protesters who allegedly threw rocks at a police station, while police used tear gas on rallies in the capital and elsewhere demanding reforms ahead of the new presidenti­al election this month.

At the same time, opposition leader Raila Odinga told The Associated Press he’s willing to return to the race if the government is “ready to do business and deal” on reforms.

Three other protesters had gunshot wounds in the deadly confrontat­ion in the Odinga stronghold of Siaya County in western Kenya, Bondo police chief Paul Kiarie said.

A statement by national police spokesman George Kinoti said a crowd of about 2,000 people threw rocks at the police station and robbed shops, leading to the shooting, which is being investigat­ed.

Massage makes man too comfortabl­e.

Police say a New Jersey man got a little too comfortabl­e in a massage chair at a mall.

Police in Lawrence Township said that 51year-old Joseph Michalski took his clothes off in a massage chair at the Quaker Bridge Mall on Tuesday.

Authoritie­s say when a mall security guard asked the Hamilton resident to put his clothes back on, Michalski punched him in the face. Police said the guard then wrestled the man to the ground before police arrived.

Michalski was charged with lewdness and simple assault. The guard was not seriously hurt.

Ex-politician sentenced in Pennsylvan­ia.

A former Pennsylvan­ia politician who molested a 103-year-old nursing home resident has been sentenced to 23 months’ probation. It came a day after a politician in the same township was arrested on child porn charges.

Seventy-six-year-old William Spingler,, a former Democratic county commisione­r, was sentenced Thursday after being convicted of indecent assault on a person with a mental disability in June. The Paoli resident will not be required to register as a sex offender.

The woman has dementia and is related to Spingler by marriage.
