Broncos Grades

- By Nick Kosmider, The Denver Post

OFFENSE D

The back-to-back 16-point efforts seemed explosive by comparison. The Broncos could produce no consistent rhythm in any facet. Penalties, sacks, turnovers and missed assignments were just a few of the culprits.

DEFENSE C

The Broncos failed to adjust to tight end Evan Engram, who consistently made big plays in the passing game. A 47-yard run by Orleans Darkwa in the first quarter nearly matched the Broncos’ average pergame yield on the ground.

SPECIAL TEAMS C-

Two missed field goals by Brandon McManus, one of which was partly blocked, were among the biggest issues. The Broncos blocked a field goal late in the game.

COACHING D

The Broncos, coming off a bye week, didn’t have an answer for the Giants on either end of the ball, appearing overmatched against a team that entered the game 0-5 and devastated by injuries.

GAME BALLS

Demaryius Thomas. Became just the seventh active NFL player to eclipse the 8,000-yard career receiving mark. He had more than 100 yards for the first time this season.

Adam Gotsis. He had a sack and blocked a field goal, another strong game for the second-year defensive end out of Georgia Tech.

Evan Engram. The Giants tight end set the tone with a 26-yard catch that preceded the Giants’ first score, and his 5-yard TD reception put New York up 10-0.
