Boulder’s Spectra Logic lays off 38.

Boulderbased Spectra Logic, a data storage manufacturer, laid off 38 people this week amid weak performance in the disaster recovery and backup markets. The reductions, roughly 9 percent of the total workforce, will help position the company to focus on high-performance computing and other growth areas.

The “majority” of affected workers were local. Spectra Logic employs roughly 350 sales representatives across the country.
