University of Denver forward Troy Terry, a junior from Highlands Ranch, and goalie Nicole Hensley of Lakewood were officially named to the U.S. Olympic hockey teams Monday.

Both will compete for the Americans at South Korea’s Winter Games in PyeongChang from Feb. 9-25.

Terry, 20, is among four NCAA players selected to Team USA, and he probably will miss four DU games — a home-and-home series against Colorado College on Feb. 16-17 and a two-game series at St. Cloud State on Feb. 23-24. Terry is the Pioneers’ second-leading scorer with 25 points (eight goals) and ranks ninth nationally.

“It is such a tremendous honor to be selected,” Terry, a gold medal shootout hero at last year’s World Junior Championship, said in a DU news release. “I have always taken pride in wearing the red, white and blue, and to have an opportunity to do it at the Olympics is incredible. I will take pride in representing my family, the University of Denver and the state of Colorado.”

Hensley, 23, is a 2016 graduate of Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., and a full-time member of the U.S. women’s national team.

She led the Americans to the gold medal at the 2017 World Championship and will compete for the starting goalie job with Maddie Rooney, who is taking the year off at Minnesota Duluth, and former Wisconsin Badger Alex Rigsby.
