Raiders replace Crabtree at WR by signing Nelson

ALAMEDA, CALIF. » The Oakland Raiders are shuffling wide receivers, having signed free agent Jordy Nelson and released Michael Crabtree.

Nelson signed a two- year contract Thursday after the Raiders spent more than a day meeting with the former Green Bay Packers star. Oakland cut ties with Crabtree after three seasons, leaving Nelson and Amari Cooper as the Raiders’ starting wide receivers.

The Raiders also signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin to a one- year contract and officially announced a three- year contract with blocking tight end Derek Carrier that had been offered and accepted Tuesday.

Browns- Patriots trade reunites twins.

The Browns traded FOXBOROUGH, MASS. cornerback Jason McCourty to the Patriots, reuniting him with his brother, Devin. Cleveland also sent a seventh- round pick to the Patriots to get a sixth- rounder in return.

Chiefs extend Colquitt’s deal.

The Chiefs gave a three- year, CITY, MO.

$ 7.5 million contract extension to longtime punter Dustin Colquitt, a deal that could ensure he plays the rest of his NFL career with the team.

Colquitt’s agent said the new contract could be worth up to $ 9 million with incentives.
