CURRY HEADING TO BUCCANEERS

FLA.» One day after he TAMPA, was released by the Eagles, defensive end Vinny Curry is headed to the Buccaneers on a three-year deal for up to $27 million, with a $11.5 million injury guarantee.

Curry, 29, was cut by the Eagles on Friday to free up salary cap space. He was due to make $9 million in 2018. The team also explored trade options before the release.

To make room for Curry, the Bucs cut Robert Ayers, who was entering the third and final year of a three-year deal with the Bucs. He was set to make $6 million, including a roster bonus due on the fifth day of the league year.

Titans releasing Williams.

NASHVILLE, told defensive lineman Sylvester Williams they are releasing him after one season into a three-year deal signed last year.

The 28th overall pick in 2013 by Denver, Williams spent his first four seasons with the Broncos, for whom he started 48 games and had 5½ sacks with 94 tackles. Williams signed with Tennessee in March 2017 and started 11-of15 games. He finished with four tackles for loss and three quarterbac­k pressures with 26 tackles.

Williams’ base salary for this season was $5 million and $5.5 million in 2019.

Scandrick gone from Dallas. The Cowboys released veteran cornerback Orlando Scandrick, which will free up $3 million in cap space in 2018.

He will count $1.6 million against the cap in 2019. The Cowboys will not receive the $3 million credit until June.

Scandrick requested his release from the team.

At the end of last season, Scandrick thought his time with the Cowboys was coming to an end, with the team using rookies Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis at outside cornerback and safety Xavier Woods in the slot, as Scandrick dealt with a back injury.

Hankins released by Colts. Defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins was released after signing a three-year, $27 million deal with the Colts last offseason.

He was due to have $4.5 million of his $8 million salary for 2018 become guaranteed on Sunday.

Hankins had 44 tackles and two sacks while starting all 15 games that he appeared in during his lone season with the Colts.

Footnotes. Versatile running back Danny Woodhead announced his retirement from the NFL after 10 seasons. Woodhead played with Baltimore last year. The 5-foot-8 Woodhead was a two-time Harlon Hill Trophy winner at RMAC member Chadron (Neb.)
