Say “no” to more drilling

- Re:

“Fighting the 416 fire reaches cost of $10M,” June 14 news story

The majority of Americans do not want drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and five administrations have protected it for its unique biological, recreational, subsistence and spiritual values. But the Trump administration is racing to sell leases by shortening the public comment period which ends June 19.

After increasingly frequent weather disasters, we must say “no” to fossil fuel extraction. Near us are the Burro and the 416 fires, and our air is thick with smoke. A spark in this killer drought could set nearby hay fields and grazing areas ablaze, and we could lose our home.
