No danger posed by e-bikes

Re: “Cool your engines,” June 13 letter to the editor Gregg Behmer ought to get on an e-bike and ride it before he gets on his high horse. I am 70 and have been riding my Schwinn Tailwind for several years now. While it is technically motorized, it is really just an as-needed “power assist.” It certainly does not have an engine. Pedestrians need not fear being run over by an electric bicycle; those Tour de France wannabes on the Cherry Creek path are probably a greater danger to themselves and others.
