Mccormack has shared video of her husband’s Tesla car shooting flames while in Southern California traffic.

Mccormack said in an accompanyi­ng tweet Friday that there was “no accident” and the incident was “out of the blue.”

Sheriff’s Lt. William Nash in West Hollywood said Saturday that deputies saw smoke coming from the electric vehicle and then fire.

Deputies requested help from firefighte­rs, who quickly extinguish­ed the flames.

Tesla called the incident “an extraordin­arily unusual occurrence” and said it is investigat­ing.

Nash said there were no injuries. Nash said the log entry cited the possibilit­y of a faulty battery.

Mccormack is married to director Michael Morris.

Trump will meet with House GOP on Tuesday to discuss immigratio­n. WASHGINGTO­N» President Donald Trump will meet with House Republican­s this week to discuss immigratio­n.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and was confirmed by two House Republican aides.

Trump is said to favor little-known official as next consumer bureau director. little-known Office of Management and Budget official is President Donald Trump’s leading candidate to become permanent director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, according to four people with knowledge of the matter.

If approved by the Senate, Kathy Kraninger would succeed her boss, White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney, who has been leading the bureau part time since November. The confirmati­on process could take months, and Mulvaney has said he expects to be at the bureau until the end of the year.

Kraninger, an associate director at OMB, previously worked for the Department of Homeland Security and the Senate Appropriat­ions Committee. She would inherit an agency that has been roiled by a shift to Republican leadership under Mulvaney from its roots as a scourge of financial firms under Obama administra­tion appointee Richard Cordray, a Democrat who is running for governor of Ohio.

Mattis stresses integrity to Merchant Marine graduates.

KINGS POINT, Defense Secretary James Mattis is urging U.S. Merchant Marine Academy graduates to always maintain integrity and “run the ethical midfield.”

Mattis also stressed preparedne­ss and taking responsibi­lity in Saturday’s commenceme­nt address, saying the 191 graduates should “always know where your boots are” so they’re ready when trouble looms.
