- By Pat Rooney

AIR FORCE ACADEMY» An injury scare and a ragged first half will give coach Tad Boyle plenty of talking points in the coming days. But the Colorado men’s basketball team got its act together in plenty of time to steadily pull away for a 93-56 road win Saturday at Air Force.

The win ended a sixgame road losing streak for the Buffaloes going back to last season and improved CU’S record to 3-1 on the young season.

It was the ninth straight win for the Buffaloes over the Falcons. Sophomore forward Tyler Bey left the game at the 12 minute, 45 second mark of the first half with an apparent right shoulder injury and did not return.

Air Force shook off a hot shooting start by the Buffs to pull within 33-26 with 1:31 left in the first half. But CU sophomore point guard Mckinley Wright scored the final three points of the first half to give the Buffs a 3626 lead, and CU immediately blitzed the Falcons with a 19-3 run after halftime to take control.

Eleven different players scored in a balanced offense for the Buffs, with junior forward Lucas Siewert leading the way with a career-best 17 points on a 6-for-6 showing from the floor (3-for-3 on 3-pointers).

Senior Namon Wright went 3-for-6 on 3-pointers and finished with 13 points.

Colorado Springs native D’shawn Schwartz added 11 points, scoring all of them in the second half, while freshman Daylen Kountz had the strongest game of his young career with 11 points on a 5-for-6 effort from the floor.

The Buffs committed 10 turnovers in the first half and finished with 16. CU outrebounded the Falcons 44-25.
