Eagles’ last stand.

Philadelphia (4-6) is one loss from seeing its Super Bowl champion repeat bid unofficially extinguished. The Eagles started Week 12 in 10th place in the NFC. “It’s uncharted territory a little bit,” Eagles coach Doug Pederson said. “I think the guys have handled it really well. They’re disappointed, they’re frustrated, quite frankly, as we all are. We haven’t played up to the caliber that we’re capable of playing. Nobody is going to feel sorry for us and we’re not going to do the same.”

Donald even better.

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald won NFL defensive player of the year in 2017, but his 2018 version is even more eye-popping. He leads the league with 14½ sacks. “I think he was well-deserving of (the award) last year and I think he’s even playing better this year,” coach Sean Mcvay said. “He’s truly taken his game to a different level. You feel him (on) every single snap.”

Impressed with Mullens.

From the Thinkin’ Out Loud Dept.: Might San Francisco quarterback Nick Mullens have some trade value this offseason if he finishes the season well as Jimmy Garoppolo’s replacement? In two starts (1-1 record), Mullens is 43-of-61 passing for 512 yards, four touchdowns, two interceptions and a 104.0 rating. “I like the fact that it doesn’t appear like it’s too big for him right now,” said Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Mark Duffner, whose team hosts the 49ers. “He’s been able to be pretty poised in his play.”

Seahawks running wild.

Seattle is at .500 for the fourth time this season (2-2, 3-3, 4-4 and 5-5) and travels to Carolina. The Seahawks have rushed for at least 150 yards in seven consecutive games to climb to first in the league in rushing (154.3 yards per game).
