While we are banning songs
I have a couple more songs that I think should be banned immediately. They are both Beatles songs. The first to add to the banned list should be “I want to Hold Your Hand.” That phrase is repeated throughout the song so it is obviously an unwanted sexual advance.
If the girl wanted to hold Paul, John, Ringo or George’s hand she would have. It has to go. The second song is “Can’t Buy Me Love.” This song is clearly a reference to prostitution and prostitution is degrading to women so it has to go. I think I am making my point.
The #MeToo movement has brought up very serious issues that have to be addressed by serious people. By interpreting innocent songs based on political views the important issues of the #MeToo movement are diluted to the point that no one will listen when a serious offense does take place.
