A former Broncos linebacker is scheduled to appear in court next month on accusation­s that he choked a high school assistant basketball coach, according to Aurora police records.

Andra Davis, 40, has been issued summonses for simple assault and assault and battery, a police report showed. The incident occurred after a Dec. 12 girls game between Regis Jesuit and Grandview High School. Davis’ daughter, a forward for Grandview, was ejected late in the game after punching a Regis player.

Suspect involved in shooting arrested.

PUEBLO» A suspect connected to an officer-involved shooting in Pueblo has been arrested. Si- mon Eugene “Elijah” Gurule Jr., 21, is in custody, police said Thursday.

Man convicted of beating woman.

» A Greeley man has been convicted by a Weld County jury of severely beating a woman, breaking her leg and bruising parts of her body. Phillip Romero, 43, was convicted Wednesday on charges including first-degree assault, menacing and false imprisonme­nt.

Judge to review payment formula in au pair settlement.

A proposed $65.5 million settlement for low-paid child care workers from around the world will be divided under a formula once a judge considers whether the agreement is fair. The deal filed this week in Denver federal court covers nearly 100,000 people who came to the United States to work as au pairs from 2009-18.
