POLICE ARREST ONE IN CASES OF VANDALISM
Denver police have arrested a man in connection with several acts of vandalism at the Colorado Capitol.
Elias Anthony Dominguez, 26, faces a charge of seconddegree burglary.
Early in the morning of Jan. 27, someone broke several bust sculptures, glass display cabinets, chairs and signs, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The statehouse was closed, leaving Denver police to wonder how someone got inside.
Police used surveillance footage to determine the building was entered through a faulty security door. The footage also shows someone waving at the camera, breaking the statues, rummaging through things and throwing several items off the second-floor balcony, according to police.
No dollar amount was given for the damage.
