J.Lo will celebrate her birthday in Denver this summer
As a singer, actor, dancer and all-around showbiz mainstay, Jennifer Lopez feels frozen in time.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing, and it’s due partly to the fact that she hasn’t changed her persona much in recent years — following various reinventions since breaking out in the mid-’90s.
But as J.Lo approaches her 50th birthday on July 24, her glam, crossover appeal will once again be tested with a massive tour — which includes a Denver stop about a month before her birthday.
Promoter Live Nation this morning announced a June 19 concert at the Pepsi Center for Lopez, part of her 24-city It’s My Party: The Live Celebration Tour, which is being advertised with a glammed-up Lopez in thigh-high boots perched atop a glittering, very on-brand birthday cake the size of an elephant.
The show announcements come amid Lopez’s general media blitz, which has included daytime talk show appear- ances to sell her first new tour in nearly seven years. Her previous Dance Again World Tour sold more than 1 million tickets, according to Live nation.
Tickets for the Pepsi Center concert will cost $50-$520, not including fees, and are on sale at 10 a.m. March 29 by calling 303-893-8497 or visiting altitudetickets.com. Altitude also has details on a trio of pre-sales in partnership with “Ellen,” Live Nation and American Express.
The tour represents Lopez’s first-ever solo, U.S. headlining tour, The Chicago Tribute reported, after playing numerous dates in 2007 with then-husband and Latin artist Marc Anthony, and a co-headlining tour alongside Enrique Iglesias.
