METRO DENVER GOLF COURSES WITH BEST VIEWS

It’s finally sunny and warm, so it’s the perfect time to talk golf. If your score isn’t up to par, then you will have more time to enjoy 10 of the best views at metro Denver golf courses.

Scored another 103 on the golf course? Who cares when you have views like these? Go ahead and stink up the course but, lord, look at that scenery.

Here are what we think are 10 of the best views from metro Denver golf courses, in no particular order. Have more? Let us know.

Evergreen Golf Course (city of Denver): “At 7,220 feet, this 18hole executive course sits along Bear Creek,” according to its website. “Elk sightings are frequent.”

Arrowhead Golf Course, Littleton: According to Steve Black, general manager, hole No. 10 is a 400-yard par-4 with bunkers along the right side of the landing area and bunkers surroundin­g the green. “There is not much room for error on either side of this hole,” he said.

Fossil Trace Golf Club, Golden: The No. 12 par-5 is 585 yards and was voted by Golf Digest as one of “The 18 Most Fun Holes in

America,” according to head pro Jim Hajek. Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course, Castle Rock: The course’s signature hole No. 14 is a par-3 with a 360-degree view of the Front Range from the highest point on the golf course, said head pro Bob Persichett­i. Buffalo Run Golf Course, Commerce City: Hole 14 features picturesqu­e views of the Rocky Mountains, said Jodi Hardee, community relations manager for the 18-hole championsh­ip course designed by golf course architect Keith R. Foster. Hyland Hills Golf Course, Denver: The No. 8 hole on the Gold course is a par-3 over water, with a gently sloping green from back to front, said golf director Allen Brown.

Plum Creek Golf Club, Castle Rock: The par-3 12th hole “consists of 10,000 railroad ties surroundin­g the green, bringing the contrast between Colorado’s rustic past and the course’s plush confines into stark relief,” according to its website. “The course was once included on the prestigiou­s list of TPC courses and hosted a Champions Tour event won by the legendary Gary Player.” The Ridge at Castle Pines North: The No. 17 hole, Stone Tower, is a 175-yard par-3. It’s a slightly uphill shot to a blind green, said general manager Daniel Kane. “Short is Bunker City and long is wrong,” he added. The Golf Club at Bear Dance, Larkspur: The signature hole at Bear Dance, No. 6 is in the shape of a bear’s paw and is a bear, with 11 bunkers. “This par-4 has amazing long views showcasing the Front Range,” said head pro Mark Pfingston. Willis Case Golf Course, north Denver (a city of Denver course): “No. 1 at Willis Case is a beautiful par-4 with majestic views of the Rocky Mountains,” said Mitch Nielsen, head pro. “On clear days, you can see the entire mountain range from Longs Peak to Pikes Peak.”
