Nation divided over immigration, raids

- Re: Stephen H. Cohn, Lou Bluestein,

The editorial failed to honestly address the issue concerning ICE officials arresting people here illegally for refusing to leave our country after receiving deportation orders. The editorial said the raids are removing “Coloradans” who are being “picked up from their safe and stable homes,” but it didn’t say the intent of the raids is to pick up criminals. Some of the immigrants may have “safe and stable homes,” but others are housing drug dealers, sex traffickers or violent felons. Post editors have no way of knowing what goes on in the homes.

A statement in the editorial says, “Americans will look back on this period of time with shame and remorse,” but the shame and remorse I feel is that open-borders socialists and their media supporters justify criminal behavior by people being here illegally.

Today, they came for others. Not for us. Not for me. For others! Tomorrow will be another day. I remember when we were the leaders of the world, when we fought and defeated the monsters, when we were the righteous and the just. Today we have become the “good Germans” of the 1930s and ’40s, accepting the evil and the brutality of our elected monsters and doing our best to ravage the Earth in the process. Today the world is learning to fear us and to despise us. Today we force humans into cages, into concentration camps. For whom will they come tomorrow? For whom will there be cages and concentration camps tomorrow? Shame on us, America!
