The Open Forum Miller has too much power

- H. Rene Ramirez, Sandi Simpson,

So we recently learned that Stephen Miller is the point person for much of the Trump administration’s dehumanizing policies and actions against immigrants. Now the administration wants to deport a small number of immigrants granted temporary status based on significant medical conditions. It’s likely Miller suggested this, because he has numerous other policies such as family separation and extended detention.

I don’t recall anyone voting for this person. How does his far-right radical (he is described as such) ideas get to become law and policy without the American public authorizing this joker to do this? These actions are so far from what our country has always stood for. Sick and endangered people are going to die from these brutal policies.

So if there was an election to choose an “Immigrant Elimination Czar,” who of good conscience would vote for Miller? History will judge him and the entire administration very harshly for this and all other actions taken.

I feel the pain. We all should. people were clogging the sidewalk trying to see the main stage. It took us 20 minutes to walk from one side to the other. I understand you can buy VIP tickets to get closer to this main stage and the headliners, but the price I found was $119.

Prices have gotten way out of hand. We paid seven tickets for a 24-ounce bottle of water; that’s $5, and you’re not allowed to bring in your own. We paid 28 tickets for three empanadas, which is equivalent to almost $20. The empanadas were the size of half a McDonald’s hamburger.

It was a sad event. I use to love going at least once, if not multiple times over the holiday. This was the last time.
