Brown expected to make Oakland debut
Monday, 8:20 p.m., RingCentral Coliseum (ESPN) Coach: Jon Gruden (second season of second stint with Raiders; 99-93 overall in 12 years). 2018 record: 4-12 (last in AFC West). 2018 Statistical rankings: Offense — 23rd in yards (336.2) and 28th in scoring (18.4); Defense — 26th in yards (381.4) and 32nd in scoring (29.2).
Players to watch
WR Antonio Brown: Traded from Pittsburgh to Oakland in the offseason, Brown did not play in the preseason. Now 31, Brown has six consecutive years of at least 100 catches, 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns.
QB Derek Carr: A durable player who has missed only two games in five years (32-46 record), Carr has Brown, new WR Tyrell Williams, RT Trent Brown and RB Josh Jacobs as new additions.
Carr is 4-5 against the Broncos.
FS Lamarcus Joyner: A former secondround pick of the Rams, Joyner switched from cornerback to free safety in 2017. He signed a four-year, $42 million contract with Oakland in March to help a pass defense that gave up a league-high 8.03 yards per play.
RB Josh Jacobs: One of the Raiders’ three first-round picks last spring, Jacobs had only 251 carries for 1,491 yards in three years for Alabama. He scored 16 touchdowns and also caught 48 passes. He was the first tailback drafted.
DE Clelin Ferrell: Drafted fourth overall in April, Ferrell had 27 sacks in his final three years at Clemson and a whopping 50 1/2 tackles for lost yardage. The Raiders needed pass-rushing help — their 13 sacks last year were 17 fewer than every other team.
