PUEBLO» A woman’s body found in a suitcase in a trash bin had been dismembered. Investigators, using specially trained dogs, having been searching for the missing body parts.

On Oct. 17, the body of 58-year-old Maria CuevasGarcia was found in a carwash trash bin, according to police. Her son, Anthony, 36, has been arrested as a suspect in her killing.

Police on Wednesday said investigators are searching for the victim’s head, hands and feet.

The information about her dismemberment initially was withheld from the public “because only the suspect and/or those involved with her murder would have known this fact,” police said.

Investigators, using dogs with handlers from the Elizabeth Police Department who are part of NecroSearch International, are searching on the southwest side of Pueblo near Colorado 78.
