Rockies Recap

- — Kyle Newman, The Denver Post

Rockies 4, Rangers 3

On the mound: After Ubaldo Jimenez, right-hander Jose Mujica (signed to a free-agent deal Nov. 27) made his spring training debut, allowing one run on a walk and a hit in two innings. Southpaw James Pazos was solid with 1M scoreless innings.

At the plate: Bret Boswell hit his first homer of spring at an opportune time, putting Jason Bahr’s full-count fastball into the right-field grass with two outs in the eighth. The threerun homer swung the score in Colorado’s favor, and Boswell is hitting 6-for-9 (.667).

Worth noting: Tyler Kinley, who was claimed off waivers from Miami in the offseason, might be the team’s most intriguing bullpen arm. He earned the team’s first save of the spring with a one-two-three ninth.
