Best-selling author Orlean explains story of library fire

Join New York Times bestsellin­g author Susan Orlean in the quest to crack the unsolved mystery of the largest library fire in the history of the United States at a special author event on Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at Hilton Denver Inverness, 200 Inverness Drive W. in Englewood.

Orlean will introduce the audience to her award-winning novel “The Library Book,” which details the devastatin­g 1986 fire at the Los Angeles Public Library.

Spend an afternoon with Orlean, who will share her passion about libraries and what led her to write this compelling read. A television series based on “The Library Book” is in the works with Paramount TV.

Orlean is best known for her novel “The Orchid Thief.” She is a former writer for The New Yorker magazine and a contributi­ng editor for Rolling Stone and Vogue magazines.
