NBA PRACTICES BEGIN AT DISNEY, AS TEAMS RESTART ROUTINES

Full-scale practices inside the NBA bubble at the Disney complex started Thursday, with the Magic — the first team to get into the campus earlier this week — becoming the first team formally back on the floor. By the close of business, all 22 teams participat­ing in the restart were to be checked into their hotel and beginning their isolation from the rest of the world.

The last eight teams were coming in Thursday, the Lakers and 76ers among them. Lakers forward LeBron James lamented saying farewell to his family, and 76ers forward Joel Embiid — who raised some eyebrows when he said he was “not a big fan of the idea” of restarting the season in a bubble — showed up for his team’s flight in what appeared to be a full hazmat suit.

Indians’ Reyes sorry for not wearing mask. CLEVELAND» The Indians’ Franmil Reyes apologized for endangerin­g his health — and putting his teammates at risk — by not wearing a mask while attending a holiday party last weekend. Reyes’ off-field behavior prompted the Indians to keep him away from their training camp in case he had been exposed to the coronaviru­s. Reyes was retested twice and cleared by Cleveland’s medical personnel before he was allowed to resume on-field activities.

Nashville out of MLS is Back after 9 players test positive. Nashville SC has withdrawn from Major League Soccer’s MLS is Back tournament in Florida after nine players tested positive for the coronaviru­s, the league announced. Nashville is the second team to withdraw from the tournament. FC Dallas had to pull out after 10 players and a coach tested positive.

Tiger Woods to return next week at Muirfield Village.

DUBLIN, OHIO» Tiger Woods announced Thursday on Twitter he will play next week at the Memorial, a tournament he has won a record five times, as he goes after his record 83rd career victory on the PGA Tour. It will end a five-month break from competitio­n for Woods. He last played on Feb. 16 at the Genesis Invitation­al, where he shot 76-77 at chilly Riviera to finish alone in last place.

Pats’ Edelman hopes Jackson posts serve as teaching moment. BOSTON» New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman said he hopes recent anti-Semitic social media posts by Philadelph­ia Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson can be a teaching moment. In a video posted to Instagram, Edelman offered to accompany Jackson to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., and promised to attend the National Museum of African-American History and Culture with Jackson in return.

Austin Cindric wins NASCAR Xfinity race at Kentucky Speedway.

SPARTA, KY.» Austin Cindric won the first of two NASCAR Xfinity Series races at Kentucky Speedway, charging past Chase Briscoe on an overtime restart for his first victory of the season and first on an oval. Cindric spent most of the first two stages chasing Noah Gragson, the pole-sitter who seemed poised to dominate all three segments. Cindric then took charge on a series of restarts in Team Penske’s No. 22 Ford Mustang.

NFL players are banned from exchanging jerseys after games. NFL teams will be prohibited from postgame interactio­ns within 6 feet of each other, which means players won’t be allowed to exchange jerseys after games as part of the guidelines to help limit the spread of the coronaviru­s. The restrictio­ns are outlined in the 11-pages of gameday protocols finalized by the league and NFL Players Associatio­n .
