Deputy faces misdemeanor charge in child abuse case.

ADAMS COUNTY » A sheriff’s deputy faces a misdemeanor charge in a child abuse case, according to the district attorney’s office.

Robert Joseph Slater Sheetz, 30, of Brighton, was arrested after police were called to Children’s Hospital on Sept. 18 for a child abuse report involving his infant daughter who had injuries to her face, the district attorney’s office said in a news release Wednesday.

Sheetz has been charged with one count of knowing or reckless child abuse resulting in injury, a Class 1 misdemeanor, the DA’s office said.
