School district another step closer to paying down student- meal debt.

GREELEY » Since a Denver TV news program in early September featured Greeley- Evans School District 6’ s efforts to pay off a student meal debt of more than $ 147,000, the district has received about $ 115,000 in donations, according to Julie Hill, executive director of a nonprofit dedicated to private fundraisin­g for the school system.

District 6 Director of Nutrition Services Danielle Bock said the district has not actively pursued families for meal- only debts in about four years.
