The problem with Hank Brown’s commentary on supporting Amendment B is that many small businesses lease commercial properties from major corporatio­ns. Do you really believe these same major corporatio­ns will pass along any tax relief to their tenants? Remember, this support for B comes from and goes to the same corporatio­ns that received a huge federal tax break from our current administra­tion. If you own your home or rent a place to live, you will pay more in property taxes with Amendment B — period.

As far as any second home owned in Colorado, the applicable property taxes must be paid or the property ends up in their county’s tax lien sale. Hence there is no tax cut as alluded to in the article. Unless you feel major corporatio­ns who own multiple commercial properties in Colorado deserve a huge tax break, then vote against Amendment B.
