Omaha’s reggae-ish alt-rock act 311 is coming to the Front Range with a trio of shows: Oct. 29 at Boulder’s Fox Theatre; Oct. 30 at the Ogden Theatre; and Oct. 31 at Estes Park’s Stanley Hotel (for a “boutique play,” as that last one is called). Former “Saturday Night Live” cast member and chameleon Jay Pharaoh will bring his act to Comedy Works in Larimer

What else is funny? Youtube-born, stream-of-consciousn­ess comic Chris Fleming draws inspiratio­n from the ridiculous people and situations in his daily life (see Sick Jan, his accountant). He’s also just absurdly funny, disappeari­ng into his characters Maria Bamfordsty­le while divining a strange, livewire energy anywhere he goes. He’ll headline the Boulder Theater on Oct. 10 as part of his Tricky Tricky Tour, with tickets on sale for the all-ages show at noon Friday, Aug. 27. ($35$45, boulderthe­ater.com)

Formative post-hardcore band Hot Water Music — often more concerned with jazzy rhythm and textures than melody — returns for a set at the Bluebird Theater. Tickets for the 16-and-up,
