Suspect investigat­ed in woman’s death. Man arrested in wife’s death.

A suspect is being investigat­ed for first-degree murder following a woman’s death in downtown Denver.

About 8:15 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the area of East 16th Avenue and Broadway on a report of person who was unconsciou­s in a stairwell, according to a police news release. A woman was found dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, police arrested Innis Lee Collins, 38, as a suspect in the case.

“It is believed that Collins and the victim were in a current or previous relationsh­ip,” police said.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

Three found dead in apartment.

A man, a woman and a young boy were found dead in an apartment Tuesday after being shot multiple times, police said.

Investigat­ors don’t suspect the shooting was a murder-suicide and are trying to learn more about the circumstan­ces of the shooting and those responsibl­e for it, police spokesman Doug Schepman said Wednesday.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Motorcycli­st dies in accident.

A man suspected of fatally strangling his wife inside a Lakewood residence has been arrested on investigat­ion of firstdegre­e murder.

Mario Alonso MontoyaRod­riguez, 37, is being held at the Jefferson County jail, police said in a news release.

About 7:15 a.m. Monday, police were called to a condominiu­m complex, in the 5700 block of West Atlantic Place, on a welfare check. When agents arrived, they found a woman dead inside a home.

The victim is identified as 34-year-old Jasmine Lazaro. The suspect and victim were married, police said.
