Forget doom scrolling. I’ve become obsessed with bloom scrolling.

Instagram is a great platform for those looking to get lost in a sea of # Coloradowildflowers, but that’s not what I’m talking about. My discovery tab is almost nothing but pastry artists creating floral arrangements that are also edible. Sometimes, they’re almost too beautiful to want to eat.

Folks like Ginger Taylor (@ thecupcakeexperience1) in Dallas are simply masterful in their ability to decorate desserts to look like carnations and cactuses. It’s easy to spend countless hours watching her squeeze every icing leaf and petal into place with the same care and precision as an artist painting a portrait.

Closer to home, Broomfield’s Fantasia Sweet Treats (@ fantasia_ sweet_ treats) is equally as floral with its frosting, while Elana Berusch (@ lanibakes) and Mermaid’s Bakery (@ mermaidsbakery) out of Denver, and

Cakes & Bakes Colorado (@ cakes_ and_ bakes_ co) in Aurora are baking edible flowers into Madeline cookies and adorning cakes with other real floral foliage — all while infusing my feed with joy.

And according to the posts under # Denverbakery on Instagram, there are plenty more confectionmakers in town offering a floral fix for the sweet tooth.

Yes, I plan to follow every single one of them. That way, my feed remains a garden instead of a swamp.
