Charbonnet scores 3 TDS, No. 12 UCLA routs Stanford

PASADENA, CALIF. >> Zach Charbonnet scored three touchdowns and rushed for 198 yards, his fifth straight 100-yard game, as UCLA bounced back with a victory over Stanford.

It was the sixth 100-yard game of the season for Charbonnet, who also had 61 yards receiving on five catches. The junior leads the nation in all-purpose yards per game at 170.9 and the Pac-12 with 964 yards rushing.

The Bruins ran for 324 yards and averaged 7.2 yards per carry as they improved to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in Pac-12 play.

It is UCLA’S best start since 2005, when it won its first eight games.

UCLA’S Dorian Thompson- Robinson had 249 scrimmage yards, including 199 passing, and rushed for a touchdown

Stanford (3-5, 1-5) had a two-game winning streak snapped but scored its first touchdown in 11 quarters when Tanner Mckee connected with Benjamin Yurosek on fourth-and-goal from the UCLA 2-yard line. It was the Cardinal’s first touchdown in 170 minutes, 54 seconds.

WYOMING 27, HAWAII 20. HONOLULU>>

Dawaiian McNeely scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 61-yard run early in the fourth quarter and Wyoming held off Hawaii 27-20 on Saturday night.

Mcneely’s run gave Wyoming (6-3, 4-1 Mountain West Conference) a 20-13 lead with 12:09 left and Andrew Peasley upped the Cowboys’ advantage to 14 with a 4-yard touchdown run at the 4:12 mark.

Brayden Schager pulled Hawaii (2- 7, 1- 3) within seven points on a 20-yard scoring strike to Zion Bowens with 1:40 left, but the Cowboys recovered the onside kick, picked up a first down and ran out the clock.

Wyoming piled up 365 yards on the ground. D.Q. James led the way with 179 yards on 14 carries.

Mcneely carried just four times for 81 yards, while Peasley rushed 14 times for 79 yards and two scores. Peasley completed 7 of 15 passes for 76 yards with two intercepti­ons.

Schager completed 23 of 45 passes for 205 yards for the Rainbow Warriors. He had a 22-yard scoring toss to Dedrick Parson to help Hawaii grab a 10- 0 lead early in the second quarter.
