Callaway joining Denver on one-year deal
Another day, another former Sean Payton player from New Orleans joining the coach in Denver.
The Broncos announced Friday they’ve signed wide receiver Marquez Callaway. A source confirmed to The Post that it’s a oneyear deal.
Callaway, a fourth-year player, had his best season with the Saints in 2021 when he started 11 games and caught 46 passes (84 targets) for 698 yards and six touchdowns. He played in 14 games last year, started three, and caught 16 balls for 158 yards.
Callaway was not tendered as a restricted free agent by New Orleans this of fseason, which made him a free agent. He opted eventually to sign with the Broncos and link back up with Payton.
Callaway (6-foot-2, 204 pounds) first arrived in New Orleans as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee in 2020. During his rookie season he returned 11 punts for 122 yards, but he’s only logged three returns in the two seasons since then.

Denver is slated to begin its offseason program April 11, the NFL announced Friday. The Broncos could have started a week earlier given they have a new head coach, but their current start date is earlier than some other clubs around the league.
The Broncos will hold their voluntary minicamp from April 24-26, just before the NFL Draft, which starts April 27 in Kansas City.
Next come organized team activities, which Payton is running May 23-25, May 30- June 1 and June 5- 8
he final phase of the offseason program for the Broncos is a mandatory minicamp from June 1315. Then most of the NFL will hit its annual summer break before training camps begin in late July.
