Residential brokerage takes bigger office space in shift to Glendale

A 3- year- old residential real estate brokerage has expanded its office footprint in a move to Glendale.

Guide Real Estate, founded by Bret Weinstein in January 2020, moved its office from the Denver Tech Center to 720 S. Colorado Blvd. this month.

“As much as it is the belief that office work is done in real estate — you’re thrown to the wolves, you’re off on your own — and as much as firms believe in a cloud- based model, I don’t believe in that,” Weinstein said.

The firm first started as BSW Real

Estate, but rebranded to Guide Real Estate after acquiring Andrew Abrams’ firm, A- Squared Real Estate. Abrams is now a minority partner, along with Jon Yacoretta, Weinstein said.

The new space in Glendale is 14,000 square feet, compared to the former 2,600- square- foot space at 4380 S. Syracuse St.

In addition to size, Weinstein said the office is more centrally located.

The company, which primarily specializes in residential real estate, started with just shy of 20 brokers and now has 85.

Weinstein credits much of the growth to Guide’s education and mentorship program. Every agent gets tiered training depending on their experience and is matched with a mentor.

“This is a low- bar industry and our goal is to make people substantially better than the minimum requirements,” Weinstein said.

“In real estate, nine out of 10 people fail in the first years, so our thought process is you should be an expert and know what the hell you’re doing.”

According to Weinstein, Guide had $ 600 million in gross sales volume last year.

Before founding Guide, Weinstein was part owner and managing broker at Madison and Co., but left because he wanted to expand education within the real estate industry.

“I just felt like there was more that we could do for real estate agents and Realtors in general,” Weinstein said. “We should really be supportive of people being phenomenal in this.”
