Iowa State’s Crooks named honorable-mention AP All-American as freshman
Audi Crooks’ first season with the Iowa State women’s basketball team has been full of big moments and giant accomplishments. She’s already done something no other player in program history has accomplished.
On Wednesday, she was an honorable mention pick to the Associated Press All-America team. She’s the 11th Cyclone and first Iowa State freshman to collect AP All-America honors. Crooks was richly deserving of the accolade.
The 6-foot-3 center, who hails from Algona, lived up to the big expectations placed upon her as one of the most decorated players in Iowa State’s recruiting class. Crooks was a force in the post averaging a team-high 18.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
The season has been full of firsts for Crooks, who broke Iowa State’s singleseason freshman record for points and field goals. Her success has earned Crooks some accolades. She was named to the All-Big 12 coaches firstteam earlier this season.
