Rosalie M Griffo

INDIO - Rosalie Margaret Griffo, 67 years young of Indio, California, died in Napa Valley, CA on January 22, 2024.

She was born in Steubenville, Ohio on May 27, 1956, to Peter Paul Griffo (Kang) & Connie L. Griffo.

In 1971 she along with the Griffo family moved to Incline Village, Nevada.

There she attended and graduated from Incline High School in 1974.

In 1988, she moved to the Palm Springs area, where she resided until her death.

She worked for 35 years at the Nest Restaurant in Indian Wells, CA as a server.

She was a house favorite and made way too many friends while at the Nest to quantify. The Nest became her second home and like she had done all her life she “took” care of people. So much so, she was recognized as the “server of the year” by one publication in the industry.

Rosalie never married or had children; however, because she was more concerned about her family and friends and taking care of them, in a way, she was “married” to all of us.

Rosalie was an aunt to Bailey, Michael, Justin, and aunt to so many extended family members through her brothers’ marriages. To everyone – she was Aunt Ro.

She also had a very soft and loving heart for her two little dogs Joey and Cookie and took care of each of them like the valuable family members they were.

Also, she is survived by her 3 very special brothers – Jim, Dewey and John and their spouses – Debbie, Becky & Maylee.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday April 7, 2024, at the Nest Restaurant, 75188 CA111, Indian Wells, CA 82210 from 12:00pm to 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital @ stjude.org.
