James R. Bas­kette

On Novem­ber 27, 2018, James R. Bas­kette, hus­band of the late Ruth Bas­kette, passed away at home with fam­ily by his side.

He is pre­de­ceased by his par­ents, Frank and Bessie Bas­kette; his son, James R. Bas­kette Jr.; and son in law, Richard Rodgers Jr.

Mr. Bas­kette is sur­vived by his daugh­ter, Sharon Rodgers; daugh­ter in law, Tena Bas­kette; and Mark and Pat McGe­hee. Also sur­vived by his lov­ing grand­chil­dren: Rick Rodgers and wife An­gela, April Richter and hus­band Der­rick, Jor­dan Bas­kette, Bryanne Bas­kette; and his de­voted great grand­chil­dren: Ja­cob, Trent, Tyler and Ash­lyn.

Jim was the rock of his fam­ily, a man of few words with a strong and kind­hearted pres­ence. Born in Spar­rows Point, he grew up in High­land­town and moved to Dun­dalk in his teens. He grad­u­ated from Thomas A. Edi­son Vo­ca­tional High School in 1948 with a de­gree in me­chan­i­cal draft­ing.
