CBCC Dean Mon­ica Walker re­ceives In­sti­tu­tional Lead­er­ship Award

Com­mu­nity Col­lege of Bal­ti­more County Dean Mon­ica Walker re­cently re­ceived the 2018 In­sti­tu­tional Lead­er­ship Award from Cam­pus Com­pact Mid-At­lantic. Walker, who serves as dean of De­vel­op­men­tal Ed­u­ca­tion and Spe­cial Aca­demic Pro­grams, was pre­sented with the award dur­ing CCMA’s 2018 Pres­i­dent’s In­sti­tute and 10th An­niver­sary Cel­e­bra­tion in early Novem­ber at Gal­laudet Univer­sity in Washington, D.C.

Walker has worked at CCBC for 20 years start­ing as an ad­junct fac­ulty mem­ber and ris­ing to her cur­rent po­si­tion as dean. With a stel­lar work-his­tory, she holds mem­ber­ships within var­i­ous pro­fes­sional and schol­arly or­ga­ni­za­tions and has re­ceived sev­eral awards through­out her ca­reer. Walker’s re­cent honor bestowed by CCMA rec­og­nizes her out­stand­ing con­tri­bu­tions to the in­sti­tu­tion­al­iza­tion of com­mu­nity en­gage­ment by in­spir­ing a col­lege cul­ture of ser­vice/civic and com­mu­nity en­gage­ment and in­volv­ing com­mu­nity voice in the devel­op­ment of part­ner­ships.
