Woman, 59, dies in Dun­dalk apart­ment fire

A 59-year-old woman died in a one-alarm, New Year’s Day apart­ment fire in Dun­dalk.

Lil­lian L yman Lin­de­man, of the 2800 block of Dun­lawn Ct., was pro­nounced de­ceased at the scene by BCoFD EMS per­son­nel after re­peated at­tempts to re­vive her were un­suc­cess­ful.

En­gine 7 (Es­sex) and other east side crews were dis­patched at 9:40 p.m. after an­other res­i­dent of the apart­ment build­ing re­ported smoke in his unit. Fire­fight­ers found the vic­tim’s apart­ment filled with smoke and lo­cated the vic­tim — who was un­re­spon­sive — in the liv­ing room. EMS crews im­me­di­ately be­gan ad­vanced life sup­port care.

The res­i­dent who re­ported the fire was trans­ported to Johns Hop­kins Bayview Med­i­cal Cen­ter with non life-threat­en­ing in­juries.

BCoFD fire in­ves­ti­ga­tors de­ter­mined that the fire be­gan when smok­ing ma­te­ri­als ig­nited com­bustible items. The fire and smoke dam­age mainly was lim­ited to the apart­ment of ori­gin.
